A special itinerary on the last stages of the Via Francigena, from Luca as far as Rome through the most beautiful and famous landmarks.
The itinerary is suitable for hybrid bicycles and e-bike as well, with saddlebags and bags.
Day 1: Lucca
Day 2: From Lucca to San Miniato
Day 3: From San Miniato to Siena
Day 4: From Siena to San Quirico d'Orcia
Day 5: From San Quirico d'Orcia to Acquapendente
Day 6: From Acquapendente to Montefiascone
Day 7: From Montefiascone to Sutri
Day 8: From Sutri to Rome

Day 1: LUCCA
You will start your journey from the magic tuscan town of Lucca. Time for a nice walk on the city walls of the town and in the historical center. Enjoy the best tuscan food before the long journey as far as Rome.
Day 2: from LUCCA to SAN MINIATO
Very easy leg to start your jorney. You will cycle in the plain between Lucca and the hills without any effort. After Altopascio you will begin to breathe a real Tuscan atmosphere among the gentle hills across Ponte a Cappiano, Fucecchio and up to the splendid San Miniato.

Day 3: from SAN MINIATO to SIENA
Fantastic ride today from San Miniato to Siena through wonderful historical places like San Gimignano, the medieval city of the towers, and the castle of Monteriggioni as far as Piazza del Campo, the real center of Siena.

Day 4: from SIENA to SAN QUIRICO D'ORCIA
Through the wonderful tuscan hills you will cycle from Siena to the Val D’Orcia, a Unesco protected heritage site, through Buonconvento and a short but hard detour will take you also to Montalcino for tasting the fine Brunello wine. Fantastic landscapes and gentle hills to discover the very best of Tuscany.

Day 5: from SAN QUIRICO D'ORCIA to ACQUAPENDENTE
Also today you will cycle in Orcia Valley through historical sites like Bagno Vignoni and Castiglion d’Orcia. On the left side you will see Pienza ans on the left you have Mount Amiata. Don't forget a stop in charming Radicofani. Along this stretch you will cross the “border” between Tuscany and Lazio as far as Acquapendente, final destination of this fantastic cycling day in Tuscany.

Day 6: from ACQUAPENDENTE to MONTEFIASCONE
Fantastic landascapes and magic places today along the Bolsena lake as far as the town of white wine, Montefiascone. Along the way you can also stop for tasting the local wine. This part of lazio is Tuscia. It is not so popular but it has a special charme thanks to the biblical landscape and the impressive atmosphere.

Day 7: from MONTEFIASCONE to SUTRI
Today you will have the chance of visiting beautiful Viterbo, one of the most interesting among Popes towns. The historical center really worth the tour because of the medieval Pilgrims' quarter and because of the cathedral and Pope palace. Your final destination today is Sutri where you will also take your time to visit the Roman anphitheatre.

Day 8: from SUTRI to ROME
Ciclying along the Francigena is the best way to get Rome, the eternal city. Pedaling in the Roman countryside you will feel Rome arriving slowly and thus discover all the magic of this magic place. This is the end of this unforgettable journey in tuscany and lazio along the Francigena with your bicycle!
