This is one of the terrific driving itineraries we propose to make the most of your trip in Italy discovering the beautiful countryside and ancient towns away from the beaten tracks.
Day 1: Gubbio
Day 2: Urbino
Day 3: Frasassi Caves
Day 4: From Gubbio to Lake Bolsena with stop in Perugia
Day 5: Pitigliano and the Etruscan Vie Cave
Day 6: Civita di Bagnoregio and cruise on Bolsena Lake

Day 1: GUBBIO
Arrival at the airport and car rental. Transfer to your first accommodation in the very heart of Umbria, GUBBIO, one of the most beautiful medieval towns of central Italy.
Time at leisure for a first walk in the town. Dinner in a restaurant with local delicacies.
Day 2: URBINO
Departure to LE MARCHE to visit URBINO, the town of the Renaissance.
Time for visiting Palazzo Ducale and the National Gallery to see many masterpieces of Piero della Francesca, Paolo Uccello, Raffaello, Tiziano and more.
Afternoon at leisure to explore the town and surroundings. Overnight in Gubbio.
Day 3: FRASASSI CAVES
Departure to FRASASSI to visit the famous Caves, the biggest in Europe. Reservation and tickets through our office.
Time at leisure for discovering also the museums of the area or for a nice lunch in one of the cozy restaurants along the river.
Day 4: from GUBBIO to LAKE BOLSENA with stop in PERUGIA
Departure to your new destination, Bolsena Lake.
Along the way a stop in Perugia is mandatory. Perugia is the capital town of Umbria and it is a city rich in monuments, history and events. There is always something interesting to do in Perugia, including art exhibitions and first of all the visit to the National Gallery of Umbria.
Arrival in Bolsena and accommodation in your hotel situated on the lake shores. Dinner included.
Day 5: PITIGLIANO and the ETRUSCAN VIE CAVE
Departure to visit Pitigliano, an Etruscan town that preserves all the magic of ancient time and a special charme. Pitigliano is known as the little Jerusalem as it rises on the crest of a promontory of suggestive and wild beauty, bordered by green valleys crossed by the Lente and Meleta rivers.
The high tuff walls, opened by a thousand caves and tower houses enhance the qualities of a typically medieval town planning. Pitigliano is really a special place of the heart. Visit to the town and to the Etruscan Vie Cave.
In the afternoon visit to a local Wine estate for a wine tasting.
Day 6: CIVITA DI BAGNOREGIO and cruise on BOLSENA LAKE
Today a nice one hour cruise on the Lake Bolsena has been reserved for you. Boarding in Capodimonte.
After the cruise we suggest you the visit to Civita di Bagnoregio, the dying city. It is a small town perched on a tuff cliff. The stone is slowly collapsing and now the town has been abandoned by its habitants.
Only art ateliers and restaurants are still open and this make of this place a very charming place to visit.
Day 7: ORVIETO
Day at your leisure for visiting the surroundings of Bolsena; Orvieto is for sure the best place for art lovers and for a special sighseeing.
Time at your leisure to relax by the lake or the pool. Farewell dinner in a local agriturismo with a special 3- course menu.
Day 8: ORVIETO
Departure according to flight schedule.
