A generous land rich in traditions, culture and unspoiled nature. This 10 days itinerary will take you through charming hamlets and little towns including fascinanting Bagnoregio and through 2 world famous wine roads to taste the best flavours of a rich and eternal region.

Day 1: PERUGIA
Arrival in ITALY and car rental for your private transfer to your first accommodation in Umbria, a 4* hotel, near Assisi. Welcome drink.
Time at leisure to indulge in the Spa or by the pool! A special dinner tonight for tasting the very best of local cuisine and wines!
Day 2: PERUGIA
First destination of yout tour is PERUGIA, the capital town of Umbria. Perugia is a very interesting city, rich in history, culture and offering many surprises to its visitors!
The Cathedral, the major fountain, Palazzo dei Priori, Saint Peter’s Church and the old narrow streets (“vicoli”) of medieval Perugia, including the Rocca Paolina are only a few of the highlights you will discover during your sightseeing.
Afternoon at leisure for enjoying the cosmopolitan atmosphere of Perugia where a lot of events always take place throughout the year. if you love paintings and art we suggest you a visit to the “National gallery of Umbria” exhibiting important paintings and frescos of Perugino, Pinturicchio and many others.
If you are greedy for chocolate we can arrange for you a special visit to some chocolate workshops including also a chocolate class.
But if you are curious of italian way of living, take your time to stroll peacefully through the streets of the old city and enjoy an aperitif in one of the many bars overlooking the ancient buildings or on the valley! Perugia is always amazing.
Day 3: ASSISI
Today you will visit the beauty of Assisi for discovering Giotto Frescos in the upper Basilica and the mystic atmosphere of the lower one!
Assisi has a lot to offer to the visitors; first of all, it is a perfect chance for getting in touch with more than 1 thousand years of Italian history, architecture, art! Don’t forget to pay a visit to the amazing Hermitage, the place where Saint Francis used to pray. It was a cave in the rock and later a monastery was built in the same place to protect this mystical place!
In Assisi for the lunch break we have a special surprise: a snack including many local delicacies like wild boar ham, cheese, bruschetta and a glass of very good wine.
Day 4: SAGRANTINO WINE ROAD
Today you can take a long ride along Sagrantino Wine Road for discovering the beauty of Montefalco, Bevagna and the hundreds of wine estates of this area.
We have reserved for you a very interesting wine tasting melting wine and art. You will taste precious Sagrantino Wines while visiting the “Carapace”, a sculpture/building created by Master Arnaldo Pomodoro.
Second stop will be a more traditional Wine Estate, based in an old villa with a private park. Visit to the wine cellar and tasting!
Day 5: from UMBRIA to VAL D'ORCIA and SIENA
Departure from Assisi for a new thrilling adventure to Tuscany! While driving heading north west don’t forget to stop on the Lake Trasimeno shores.
Take the chance for a visit to Oasi La Valle, in San Feliciano, a naturalistic area where migratory birds always stop during their journey from Northern Europe to Northern Africa, or take a ferry to Maggiore Island, a secluded paradise where only 15 people are living in the old fishermen’s village.
Here you can have a nice lunch and a walk as far as the little church of Saint Michael and to the retreat of San Francesco, close to the collapsing castles. There is so much history in this hidden strip of land that you cannot immagine!
A new option is the visit to Cortona, the tuscan town that was known as the set of the movie “Under the Tuscan Sun”. Cortona has always somthing special to offer to its visitors.
Now it is time to get to Pienza, in world famous VAL D’ORCIA.
Accommodation in a nice country hotel in PIENZA. Time for browsing around to discover the beauty of this Unesco Heritage protected town.
Day 6: SIENA
Val d’Orcia is magic. From here a lot of world famous attractions are close at hand! Montalcino, the town of the wine Brunello, Pienza, the town of pecorino cheese, Montepulciano, the town of wine Nobile, towns with old spas and much more!
You will start you vacation in Tuscany visiting Siena, with its Piazza del Campo where every year the “Palio” takes place, and later Monteriggioni, a medieval castle that dates back to XI century.
At sunset Monteriggioni gives wonderful views over the countryside, where olive groves dominate. Mysterious hidden secrets are kept inside the old walls of this castle!
Day 7: SIENA and MONTALCINO
Driving slowly around you will discover the great beauty of this land! Ancient medieval hamlets perched on the tops of arid hills covered only with vineyards, the brown of the burnt earth create a magic landscape you won’t easily forget. Even the taste of its wines and food are not easy to forget.
Today you will visit fantastic Montalcino, the hometown of Wine Brunello, the king of Italian wines! We have arranged for you the visit to 2 traditional wine estates.
You will discover the production of this wine, including the ageing, and later you will have different wines to taste!
If you love horse riding we can arrange for you a horse-back ride in the countryside with a guide and if you are brave why not trying a hot-air-balloon ride!
Day 8: VAL D'ORCIA
Today it is the perfect day for foodies! Fun time with a cookery class in a country house in Val d’Orcia; our landlady, a chef, will introduce you to the secrets of Tuscany and Italian cooking art!
At the end of the class you will have your lunch including your hand-made products! Buon Appetito!
If you want to burn some calories don’t hesitate to use the hiking tracks map you will receive together with your travelling documents!
Walking slowly in Tuscan countryside is the best way to get fit and also to discover the Italian way of living.
Day 9: From VAL D'ORCIA to ORVIETO
Departure from Pienza to ORVIETO, the Etruscan town situated on a large butte of volcanic tuff. Orvieto is world famous for the amazing Cathedral, the Well of Saint Patrick 54 mt deep, and for the delicious White Wine Classic Orvieto, that was the first Italian wine to receive a protected label.
We have arranged for you the visit to the Undergroung trail of the town, later on you will visit one of the most traditional wine estates in Orvieto!
Accommodation in an old historical hotel in the very center of the old town and time to relax and to enjoy life!
Day 10: LAKE BOLSENA, BOMARZO MONSTER PARK and CIVITA DI BAGNOREGIO
After breakfast, you have a whole day for discovering the town, its secret and surroundings including Lake Bolsena, Bomarzo monsters Park (a garden of the XVI century) and Civita di Bagnoregio; known as the "dying town" now Civita di Bagnoregio is lively and very fashion thanks to the art ateliers and the fancy restaurants!
