Day 1: ASSISI

Arrival in ASSISI with your own car or private transfer from Perugia airport  to your first accommodation. Spare time for visiting this wonderful town, famous for the frescos of Giotto inside the upper Basilica of Saint Francis. Accommodation in a centrally located small hotel.

Day 2: from ASSISI to RIPA

Breakfast in Hotel. You have 2 options today:

1) an easy track on the flat valley between Perugia and Assisi (Km 11,50, level easy);

2) hilly and more panoramic  trail on the smooth hills around the valley (Km 17,50, level average).  

Arrival in Ripa and accommodation in your country hotel, a charming property with pool and a nice restaurant.

Day 3: from RIPA to PERUGIA

Breakfast in hotel. You will walk from the Tiber valley (suburb of Perugia) to the city center through the laundry trail. It is an old and historical trail that washerwomen used to walk for washing linen on the Tevere (Tiber) river for many centuries! Arrival in Perugia city center and accommodation in a quiet hotel very close to the historical center of the town, in a green and panoramic area.
Spare time for visiting the town and for breathing the international and historical atmosphere of this capital town of Umbria with a long story, Etruscan origins and more than 3000 years of history.

Day 4: PERUGIA

Day free at leisure for visiting the capital city of Umbria and its gems: Major fountain, the national Gallery presenting many frescos of Perugino and other famous painters, the Rocca Paolina (the underground town), the cathedral, Palace of Priori, San Francesco and Saint Peter Cathedral including the Medieval garden!

Day 5: from PERUGIA to MAGIONE

Breakfast in hotel. A short private transfer from your hotel will take you to the outskirt of Perugia to start your daily walk on the smooth and panoramic hills. From the wood of Monte Malbe you will walk through woods and glens with a beautiful view over Perugia and Lake Trasimeno. Arrival in Magione ( Colpiccione) and accommodation in a very charming Agriturismo run by a nice and friendly family.

Day 6: from MAGIONE to SAN FELICIANO

Breakfast in hotel. Nice walk facing the lake to through ancient hamlets, old castles and woods.
Arrival in this old fishermen’s village on the lake shores and accommodation in your hotel or bed and breakfast. San Feliciano is very famous for the slow atmosphere and for the wonderful sunsets on the lake!

Day 7: from SAN FELICIANO to PASSIGNANO SUL TRASIMENO

Breakfast in hotel. On your way to Passignano you can also visit 2 nice old hamlets, Monte del Lago and Monte Colognola: here time is stuck and you will breath the real Umbria atmosphere, slightly out of time!  You will walk on the easy trail along the lake shores and on your way you will find a lot of nice restaurants offering typical local Food!  Arrival in Passignano, a nice holiday village on the lake shores. Passignano offers many restaurants, a nice walk along the lake and many cafés! Accommodation in your hotel   in the very center of the town.

Day 8: from PASSIGNANO SUL TRASIMENO to TUORO

After breakfast you will have a nice hike on the hills overlooking the lake. Brooms in spring, a lot of flowers and many silver olive trees will take you to Tuoro, an old village that is quiet famous as the place of the battle between Roman army and the Carthaginians lead by Hannibal! Arrival in Tuoro and accommodation in a local bed and Breakfast.

Day 9: from TUORO to CORTONA

Breakfast and departure for a wonderful hike from Umbria to Tuscana. You will start from the nice borgo of Sanguineto that derives its name from the blood of ancient battle; walking on the crest of the hills on the border you will also visit a nice old church, Santa Maria di Sepoltaglia. Arrival in Cortona and accommodation in a cozy 3 star hotel in the very center of the town. Tome for visiting the renaissance Tuscan town.

Day 10: CORTONA

Breakfast in Hotel and departure.
