Day 3: From Gubbio to Biscina
Today you will start your hiking journey to Spoleto. Along this first leg San Francesco proclaimed himself "herald of the Great King" in front of the brigands who beat him up. After we say goodbye to Gubbio we walk forwarding between the valley of the Chiascio river and the castles at the top of the slopes. We reach the church of Madonna delle Grazie, one of the most tender places on the Via, where the memories of the pilgrims' passage are kept. We continue the difficult climb up to the Castle of Biscina where you will be allocated in a nice agriturismo.

Day 4: From Biscina to Valfabbrica
Today you will start with a new hike in the wild and unspoiled nature of Umbria as far as Valfabbrica. Easy stretch almost entirely downhill. We suggest a stop along the way to visit the franciscan Pieve of Coccorano. Valfabbrica is a little town where you will be accommodated in a nice small property inside the old historical center.

Day 5: From Valfabbrica to Assisi
Departure to Assisi on foot. The first part of this hike is in the woods where you will have to face some demanding climbs. Suddenly you can see the harmonious and imposing ensemble of the Sacred Convent and the Basilica of San Francesco with the city of Assisi. This is one of the most beautiful moments of the journey. Urban trekking in Assisi to discover the precious frescos of Giotto and the fantastic atmosphere of this Unesco protected little town of Saint Francis at night.
DETAILS: km 13,46, +660m / -590 m
Day 6: Assisi
Time at leisure to visit Assisi, with or without guide. The Roman heritage is represented by the temple of Minerva but in Assisi there is much to visit. We suggest among other things a nice walk on Mount Subasio to the hermitage of the prisons, a place of prayer very dear to the saint of the city
Day 7: From Assisi to Foligno
Panoramic and easy hike today on the slopes of Monte Subasio. First stop is the roman and medieval city of Spello where you can enjoy a walk among the stone houses, enlivened by the flowers that decorate the railings of the balconies. Foligno is your final destination today, a very interesting town on the Umbria valley where you will also discover some important monuments like Palazzo Trinci and the Calamita Cosmica.
DETAILS: km 18,50 +244m / -366m
Day 8: From Foligno to Castello di Campello
Departure for a new hike that will take you along the olive trees path to Campello, a panoramic old castle overlooking the valley. This is one of the most panoramic and beautiful streches of the route, up to Campello Alto, surrounded by wonderful views of the Spoleto valleys. Along the way you can admire the high walls of the convent of Pissignano where you can take a few minutes to enjoy the meditative atmosphere that pervades these places, among woods and olive groves.
DETAILS: km 18,50 +244m / -366m
Day 9: From Castello di Campello to Spoleto
Hike from Campello to Spoleto to discover the amazing roman bridge of “Towers” and the beauty of this ancient longobard town dominated by the Albornoz Fortress. After an exciting hike we suggest a nice dinner in town. One of the attractions of Spoleto is the cuisine indeed that is known as one of the best areas for good food in central Italy proposing truffles, olive oil, cured meat, hand made pasta and much.
DETAILS: km 19, +545 m / -415 m
