Day 1: Accommodation in Hotel in Perugia or any other place
Day 2: Lake Trasimeno area
Day 3: Spoleto

Day 1: Accommodation in Hotel in PERUGIA or any other place
Arrival in Italy. Car rental on request or private transfer all through the tour.
Welcome drink at check in for tasting the warm atmosphere of Umbria! Time at leisure for relaxing!
Day 2: TRASIMENO LAKE AREA
In the morning you will have a nice walk in Oasi La Valle, on the Lake Trasimeno shores. This protected area is a natural park where many migrant birds stop during their journey from North Africa to north Europe.
At 12,00 meeting in San Feliciano with the fishermen representative and departure for a boot ride for fishing. You will board a very simple boot where real fishermen take their fishing ride every day and you will see fishing gear, techniques and old traditions. Tour around Polvese Island, the natural protected park on the lake.
At the end of the tour you will have a nice snack: fresh fried fish and local wine. (time approximately 3 hours) there's no better way to start your acquaintance with umbria people and traditions.
Day 3: SPOLETO
A new day for a fantastic new experience: Truffle hunt and cookery class with lunch. Perfect day for tasting the very best of Umbria.
In the morning you will drive as far as the Truffle Estate, a magic place located in the area of Spoleto. This is an area particularly suited to the production of truffles. With your truffle guide and his dogs you will take a short walk in the beautiful meadows of his estate. The dogs will hunt for truffles and you will enjoy this really old tradition.
Back to the restaurant you will learn how to clean fresh truffles, to cut and cook them according to the traditional recipes.
At lunch you will eat what you have prepared ( Pasta, roasted meat, dessert, wine included)!
In the afternoon time at leisure for a nice walk in the city center of Spoleto to enjoy the amazing atmosphere of this international town that is famous thanks to its traditional festival dedicated to performing arts, Festival dei Due Mondi, that takes place in second part of June.
Day 4: CITTA' DI CASTELLO and MONTECASTELLI
Today you will have a nice escape to the north of Umbria. First stop will be Città di Castello, a very beautiful town in the upper valley along River Tevere.
Città di Castello is the hometown of famous painter and artist of XX century, Master Burri, whose masterpieces are exposed in the most famous galleries of the world. Here you will have the chance of visiting the interesting Museum dedicated to him, Fondazione Burri.
From Città di Castello you will drive 10 km to get to Montecastelli to discover another Important excellence of Umbria: Norcinerie. The word “Norcineria” indicates all over the world salami, sausages, ham and more. It derives from the Umbria Town of Norcia.
In Norcia, hometown to San Benedetto, was born the Benedict Order of Monks; they were preachers, surgeons and butchers and they used to travel all over Europe spreading their traditions about making sausages, seasoning ham and more, including recipes for making Wine. In fact, the traditional ancient recipes of Champagne was originally from Norcia, in Umbria.
Visit to a very important Norcineria Factory near Città di Castello; rich and abundant tasting of the best products, including beverages.
Day 5: SAGRANTINO WINE ROAD
Today you will have a fantastic wine tour in the Sagrantino Wine Road. The beautiful rolling hills of Bevagna and Montefalco are famous all over the world as the land of Sagrantino Wine, a rich valuable red wine that only here is produced.
You will start your day visiting Montefalco including the Church of San Francesco for the valuable frescos of Benozzo Gozzoli.
For the lunch you will reach a fantastic traditional wine estate to visit the wine cellar and to enjoy a fantastic picnic. Time to enjoy and relax in the Umbria green countryside.
Final destination of this perfect day is Bevagna and its medieval traditional workshops. Before leaving the Sagrantino Wine Road you will have a nice unforgettable aperitiv in an innovative wine cellar at sunset !
Day 6: PERUGIA
Today it is time to visit Perugia and its wonderful historical center that has more than 3000 years of history. Time for visiting the National Gallery of Art, where there is a wonderful collection of medieval and renaissance painters.
Perugia is the international and multiethnic capital town of Umbria. Many events take place in town all through the year dedicated to wine, art, music, chocolate.
In the afternoon you will have the chance of visiting the Museum dedicated to chocolate. With a supplement it is also possible to take part to a masterclass for learning to make chocolate and praline.
To end the day in the best way, today you will have a special dinner in a restaurant with a Gourmet menu including local traditional recipes and wines
Day 7: ORVIETO
Special day dedicated to explore Orvieto. Orvieto has a long history that begins with the Etruscans; its most precious gem is its cathedral that attracts visitors from all over the world. Orvieto has an old wine traditions itself.
The most important product is called “ Orvieto Classico”; it is a white wine that is also the oldest protected wine label in Italy. Here you will visit one of the most traditional wine estates and you will taste 2 wines.
On your way back home, you will spend a couple of hours for visiting the “ Scarzuola”, a magic place that was born from the genius mind of an architect of XX century. It is the “ Ideal Theatre town”.
It originates from an old monastery that Saint Francis founded in 1200. The architect some decades ago decides to create many theatres and houses and palaces around this original monastery! It is really an amazing experience and the perfect place for closing your experience in Umbria, a special synthesis of the history of this region.
And for toasting, tonight we have arranged for you a special dinner in one of the best restaurants of the area, in Panicale that is itself is a jewel thanks to its precious little square.
Day 8: DEPARTURE
Departure after breakfast.
Price is on request and will change according to the accommodation you will chosse (agriturismo, hotel 3*, hotel 4*, hotel 5*, self catering apartment…) and services you will choose.
It is possible to extend the stay. Extention has to be requested at reservation.
